Jesus is not only the Lamb of God, but He's the Lion of Judah and He's a King! He is the Lion King! Can you hear the roar?!? The Lion King is one of my personal favorites. I recently watched the remake of this Walt Disney Classic. It was soooo good! Some people didn't care for it, but I enjoyed it. The singing and all. The inner kid in me came all the way out lol. I was singing along with the songs, it was fun. Also, there is so much you can pull out of the movie as a lesson. Some good lessons on identity, leadership, relationships, family, friendship, rulership, and so on. It also has some comedy to it.

This movie also got me stirred in my spirit because Jesus is the real Lion King! The Bible is full of characters and symbolism. The Lion of Judah is a description used to refer to Christ. Scripture also identifies Him as the King of kings. Jesus is the Lion King! In 1 Peter 5:8 (AMP), it says “…That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour.” It seems a bit intimidating right? But there’s a big difference between being like something and being the real thing. If someone tells you that you look like a TV star or you sound like a popular music icon, that’s not a compliment. You know why? Because people pay money for the real thing. Why spend money on a look-a-like or a sound-a-like when I can just pay for the real person.

Well Satan is not the real King. He’s a counterfeit. Just like in the movie. Scar, Mufasa’s brother, went roaming to steal, kill and destroy, using Satan’s number one weapon – deception! He illegally took the throne, but he was a counterfeit because Mufasa was the real King and Simba inherited that kingship. But! Had Simba not taken his place, after his father’s death, Scar would have continued on functioning as a counterfeit.

Scar had his own evil plan and the enemy has one for your life. However, like Simba you have to take your place and exercise your authority with your inherited kingship through Christ Jesus. You are a joint-heir with Christ, meaning you share His spiritual blessing and inheritance (Romans 8:17). All authority has been given to Him and He has delegated that authority to His Church (Luke 10:19).

The enemy can only be a counterfeit. He can’t create so he imitates. So when he comes roaming and roaring like a lion, roar back! If you’ve lost your roar, God is a restorer. He will restore your roar. Satan has already been defeated and you have been seated. Yes! Seated with Christ in heavenly places. So we don’t roar for victory, we roar from victory. The enemy impersonates himself as a lion but you have the real Lion inside of you. Let out the ROARRRRRR!!!!
