Before you can pursue the destination you need to know who you are. Proof of ID—identity is required for just about everything these days, especially traveling. If you told someone "I don't know who I am," they would look at you foolishly and refer you to psychological help. Well, the same is required for reaching your expected end in God. Just like you have to know and prove your identity on earth, you have to do the same in the Kingdom. If you don't, the enemy will take advantage of your ignorance and thwart the plan of God for you life. God says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." Hosea 4:6 (AMP).
You can’t successfully travel the road to destiny with an identity crisis. According to the dictionary, identity crisis means distress and disorientation resulting from conflicting pressures and uncertainty about one's self. How can you drive distraught? If you're confused about who you are, you'll be confused about where you're going. Ask Adam? He forgot who he was and got off course.
Knowing you and what you're made of is imperative! As like God, we are triune beings. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit make up the Holy Trinity. We are the Un-Holy Trinity--spirit, soul, and body. Again, you have to know this because we are dual citizens. We are natural citizens here on earth and we are also spiritual citizens of Heaven. Ephesians 2:19 (AMP) says, "Therefore you are no longer outsiders, but you now share citizenship...and you belong to God's [own] household."
Okay! So you are spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. In your spirit is where you function in the spiritual realm and commune with God. Your soul consist of your mind, will, emotions in which you are self conscious, functioning in the intellectual realm. Your body carries who you are (a spirit being) in which you are world conscious, functioning in the physical realm. Knowing how to function as natural and spiritual citizens is essential while on the journey because we're in the world but not of it. We are of the Kingdom.
Learn and study who you are in Christ so when you run into some traffic, hit some potholes, have to drive thru a storm, take a few detours, or even have an accident, you'll stay with it and survive—trusting all the way. Being sure of yourself will give you that tenacity to stick things out and continue with God's plan so you'll be there for the promised completion.
